A brewery of more than 300 years, on a street of white-walled sake warehouses.

Mitsutake Shuzojo was founded in 1688, the first year of the Genroku era. The brewery stands in Hizen Hamashuku in Kashima, Saga Prefecture, on a street lined with white-walled sake warehouses. In 2006 the area was designated by the national government as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, as a brewing town.

Sake making flourished in Hizen Hamashuku from the Genroku era, and records show nine sake makers in the town in 1838 (Tenpo 9). Plentiful groundwater and rice have long supported the town’s sake.

Under the motto “innovation from within tradition”, the brewery began making shochu in 1994 and has since expanded into gin and liqueurs. WAIN99 carries Akatorii, the Fist of the North Star series, XYGIN and more. Akatorii CHOCOLATE – Pan Piano edition – connects Pan Piano’s world with Mitsutake’s gin in a project developed by WAIN99 as licensee.
