Back in Meiji-era Tokyo, this was the most fashionable drink in Asakusa. Asakusa's signature drink, which even appears in Osamu Dazai's No Longer Human. Brandy blended with gin, wine and herbs — roughly equal parts sweet and bitter, with a touch of citrus. At Kamiya Bar it's traditionally drunk with a beer chaser. Add soda for an easier drink.
