Rum from Miyakojima sugarcane — even the yeast is local
Made by Taragawa on Miyakojima, Okinawa, using only Miyakojima sugarcane and yeast. Open it and you get the smell of freshly pressed cane; the palate is clean and slightly sweet. "Makugan" means coconut crab in the Miyako dialect. The 300ml bottle is a handy size for gifts or trying it out.
