OMACHI GIRL Junmai Daiginjo

Straightforward junmai sake from a Meiji-era main house.

Yano Sake Brewery was founded in 1796 (Kansei 8). The brewery is in Takatsubaru, Kashima, Saga Prefecture, along the old Nagasaki Kaido road. Its main house, built in 1904, was listed as a national Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 2006.

In 2003 the brewery made its “Junmai Declaration” and shifted its focus to junmai sake. Its flagship label, Hizen Kuragokoro, was created at that time. The brewing water is groundwater from Mt. Tara, and the brewery also makes junmai daiginjo and junmai ginjo with Yamada Nishiki rice grown in Kashima.

Takenosono Junmai Daiginjo Aiyama won a gold medal at Kura Master 2024. WAIN99 carries OMACHI GIRL, a junmai daiginjo made with Omachi rice.
