ALCOHOL-FREE FEATURE | 0.00%

No alcohol tonight? Choose your drink by aroma.

A small distillery by a canal in Shinagawa, Tokyo, and a gin brand born in the Ardennes forest of Belgium. Two makers far apart, each putting real aroma into a drink without alcohol — in completely different ways.

Both alcohol-free, made in completely different ways

Shinagawa, Tokyo

Shinagawa Water Distillery

  • No fermentation: steam carries only the aroma of plants into water (a hydrosol), so no alcohol is ever produced.
  • Use it like a seasoning — 5–10ml per drink, 50–100 drinks per 500ml.
  • Kuromoji, aomoji, mizunara: the scent of Japanese trees.

Ardennes, Belgium

Arduenna

  • The signature organic gin recipe, remade as an alcohol-free spirit.
  • 50ml per drink — add tonic and it becomes a G&T-style serve.
  • Mirabelle, fir, elderflower: fruit and flowers from the forest.

TOKYO · SHINAGAWA

Shinagawa Water Distillery

A "seasoning" of aroma for your everyday soda.

This small canal-side distillery makes hydrosols, not alcohol: water that carries the aroma of plants. Just as you might finish a dish with a twist of yuzu peel, you can finish a drink with aroma — and bars and home drinkers use it for exactly that. KUROMOJI won bronze in the Alternative Drinks category at IWSC 2026.

BELGIUM · ARDENNES

Arduenna

Not a substitute — a drink in its own right.

Two friends who love the Ardennes forest started the brand in 2021. It is made by Distillerie Radermacher, founded in 1836 and the oldest distillery in Belgium. Every ingredient is organic, and the brand is B Corp certified. No Alcohol is the signature gin recipe remade without alcohol, keeping the ripe mirabelle, cool fir and sweet elderflower. You will find it at Michelin-starred restaurants in Belgium and France.

Good for

With food

KUROMOJI and AOMOJI are unsweetened hydrosols. With soda they make a dry drink that leaves the food alone.

One table, drinkers and non-drinkers

Same glass, same aroma, same toast — the fun of choosing stays, even on nights off.
